REV. FR. PUTHOTA BALAIAH

Rev. Fr. Puthota Balaiah, a Senior Priest of Archdiocese , he was born on 24 November 1933. At Kilacherry, Madras. His parents were the Mr. Anthya and the Bagiamma who had two children, and they joyfully offered them to the service of God. His Religious Sister, Sr. Emilda (A Charles Borromeo Sister). Fr.  Balaiah did his initial studies in Loyola College, Madras. And after his studies, he opted to become a priest for the Archdioceses  of Bangalore. Since he was a studious and dynamic student, he was sent to the Papal Seminary, Poona, for his Philosophy and theology courses. After completion of his priestly studies, he was ordained a priest on 21.11.1964 at Kilacherry, Madras, by the most Rev. Dr. Carvallo, the then Auxiliary Bishop of Madras  - Mylapore.

Father Balaih  was once a Priest in KGF, he was in the Our Lady of Victories Church in Champion Reefs, and he was for a long time here  for many years. He was very social and he was easily mingling with all people never having any discrimination of caste or religion and he had joined many in the CCF and would go to each and every house for prayer and he had very good communication with all the people of KGF And he is still living in the Hearts  of many in KGF. once he had come to my house, We were in a bamboo house, (datti house) , I still remember that a scorpion had been there to bite me, but he killed it. With a stick, hence I still remember him and the instance. I feel for his sad demise, as he had done many good things for the people of KGF he had a concern for the poor. He had been having all the ways of helping the poor people, including me, he had joined me in the CCF , I am very grateful for his sincere service  for the God and Mankind , I regret for his death.  I pray his Soul rest in peace.

My father MD.PRAGASAM Writer and director composed 101 songs in one week, for the opening  of Mother of Mines Shrine program in 1976 Oorgaum area in KGF, during the period of the Parish priest Balaiah, he was honored my father  with the title, SINTHNAI SIRPPI SIRUMALAR KAVINGNAR, and he was appreciated still I remember

Fr. Balaiah had a special gift to develop the Shrines, which he did at Our Lady of Good Health Basilica, Shivajinagar; Mother of Mines Shrine, K.G.F. and very specially, the Infant Jesus Shrine, Vivikenagar. Due to his meticulous planning and hard work, the Infant Jesus Shrine at viveknagar became a world famous Shrine that draws thousands of devotees every day.

Although he was confronted with many problems, he was courageous and determined with perseverance to solve the those problems with courage and equanimity. By nature, he was a very quiet and reserved person. But he was known for his strictness, and innovative and practical ideas. He produced the movie: Kuzhandai Yesu top spread the message of Jesus Christ to all, especially to non-Christians, through Mass Media.

Fr. Balaiah also worked in Schools. When he was at Viveknagar, he started he Bala Yesu Vidyalaya. He served the Archdiocese under various other capacities such as: a Member of the priests’ Senate, College of Consultors and the Archdiocesan Board of Education, wherever he was posted, he willingly accepted his appointment and took imitative in developing the Parishes / Institutions by putting buildings and upgrading the infra-structure.

Although he had some health problems, he was calm and serene, and never ever complained about it. This morning he also participated in the Eucharistic Celebration. And, within a few hours after the Eucharistic Celebration, he suddenly experienced a serious chest pain and breathed his last at 10:55 a.m.  on 10^th April, 2017 at the Clergy Home where he resided.

AUTHOR DR.D.SURESH BABU BIOGRAPHY

DR. D. Suresh Babu practicing Senior Radiographer, and Lab technician, born on 6-6-1967 at Kolar Gold Fields also called “LITTLE ENGLAND”, located in the hilly tracts of Kolar District in Karnataka State of India. The 2^nd child of Late Mr. M.D. Pragasam (A)Dharma lingam and Mrs. Chandra with three brothers Ramesh, Sathya, Thangarasu and one elder sister Mythili. . Grown in a family active in Trade unionism and social service activities. married with G. jayanthi  in 2005.  My father Mr. MD pragasam was a employee in BGML as pipe fitter mastery 40 years service, joint secretary  of CITU trade union  he is writer and director.

I studied primary and middle schooling at Maria vidyalaya,in Champion Reef’s, K.G.F. High school at St. Mary’s boy’s high school, K.G.F. and finished my diploma in Radiography at PES College, Bangalore in the year 1984-86. Undergone Radiography training at BGML Hospital K.G.F. and my graduation  of B.A. at First Grade College, K.G.F in 1990. Established K.G.F X-Ray Lab and Diagnostic Centre in 1992 at Roberson Pet, K.G.F. my Doctorate in Social Welfare from Golden State University, Nevada, United States of America. Member of Rural Medical Practitioner at Hyderabad. Registered medical practitioner in (AM) at Institute of Alternative Medicine Kolkata. DMLT (Diploma in Lab Technician) at Angel Community College Bangalore. And my Bachelor in Cinematographer at IVUP (Indian Virtual University Peace&Education) Diploma in journalism. Established MD. Pragasam Chandra group of institution in 2011.

                                                The influence of my Father and the Suffering of people, which I saw made me Selfless and Struggle for the Down Trodden and started conducting free medical camps for the poor people, many other development programmes , and construction of bus shelter and free reading room at Gilberts Corner champion reef kgf in the memory of my father com. MD. Pragasam. This made me a Philanthropist. I Started my service as member of the following Organizations.
